Most weeks, a pH neutral pre-wash lifts the dirt off the panel and you carry on with the contact wash. Some weeks, on some cars, that is not enough. After a long winter, a fortnight of motorway driving in rain, a season of neglect, or just before a fresh coating goes on, you want a foam that strips the panel back to a truly clean state.
This is that foam. High alkaline, high foaming, designed to lift baked-on traffic film, salt and grime that a neutral product slides over.
Periodic use, not weekly
This is the important bit. Because the formula is alkaline, this product will strip waxes, sealants and the surface layer of ceramic and graphene coatings if used regularly. That is fine when you are about to re-coat the car or doing a seasonal reset. It is not fine as a weekly pre-wash.
Rule of thumb:
Weekly washes, weekly pre-wash → use thepH Neutral Snow Foam
Monthly deep clean, end-of-winter reset, or paint prep before a new coating → use this
Concentrated, so a bottle goes a long way
One litre of concentrate makes up to 50 thin-foam pre-washes, or 20 thick, clinging-foam pre-washes. A 5 litre bottle at thin foam is 250 deep cleans,28p each. Most people will not get through a 5 litre bottle in a year because of how rarely it is meant to be used.
How to use
Fill your snow foam lance: roughly 1:10 concentrate to water for a thick, clinging foam (heavy work), or 1:25 for a thinner foam.
Apply to a dry car. Cover panels, wheel arches, lower sections and glass.
Dwell for two to four minutes. Do not let it dry on the paint, particularly in hot weather.
Rinse off thoroughly with a pressure washer, top down.
Follow with a pH neutral shampoo contact wash.
If you are about to coat the car, run a panel wipe and IPA prep after rinsing.
Not recommended over fresh ceramic or graphene coatings within the cure window (typically the first seven days after application).
